Services – Help Children in our Community
Emergency Placement
CSV strives to help children in our community and accepts emergency placements 24/7, 365 days per year.
Sibling Groups
Our resource families recognize the importance of keeping siblings together. We have many resource families who are equipped for and interested in providing a home for sibling groups.
Independent Living
This service is offered to youth between the ages of 14 and 18. The teen may transition to the program while in foster care or may be referred directly to a semi-supervised living environment.
Foster to Adopt
Adoption services are provided to children who are already placed with our resource families and whose parental rights have been terminated. The program includes family selection, home study, pre-adoptive counseling and post-adoptive services.
- Resource parents may be given the opportunity to adopt a foster child in their home, when that child becomes legally free for adoption.
- Some foster children qualify for adoption assistance. In that case, the assistance may provide the adoptive parents with a monthly stipend to help defray the cost of raising a child, ongoing medical and dental care, and a one-time payment to assist with the legal costs of adoption.
- A tuition grant program exists for qualified foster children and special needs adoption recipients who attend a Virginia community college.
Pregnant Teen/Teen Mother and Child
Skilled and experienced foster families open their hearts and homes to nurture, educate and provide structure to the teenage mother and her child.
Kinship Care
CSV offers training, home studies and case management services to relatives of children in foster care identified by the DSS agency involved with the family.
