We are OPEN and serving children and families in your community.
Potential Resource Parents
Resource Parents are NEEDED! Now more than ever!
Due to the stay-at-home orders issued by our government, many children are not being seen. Child Protective Services continues to see a huge decrease in the number of referrals. This does not mean that abuse and/or neglect is not occurring. It means that it is not being reported. As stay-at-home orders are lifted and families begin to venture out, especially if/when children return to in-person school full time, the child welfare community anticipates a surge of CPS calls resulting in many children placed in foster care.
The first step in learning more about becoming a Resource Parent is to attend an Information Session. Children’s Services of Virginia continues to conduct virtual information sessions for potential Resource Parents. Please email to schedule with our Resource Parent Recruiter.
Are you ready to help a child in need? Children’s Services of Virginia is moving forward with approving Resource Families virtually! We continue to offer virtual pre-service resource parent training.
